Synopsis
Hero is the story of Korea’s top reporters and ordinary citizens fighting against the society elite’s abuse of power. Jin Do Hyuk is a clever and talented reporter who ends up living a life of recklessness and despair when the woman he loved dies. He later decides to start a new life by helping other victims of society’s crimes, becoming a modern hero who battles against the non-ethical. Joo Jae In is a passionate woman with a strong sense of journalistic responsibility whose fate becomes entangled with his.

Lee Joon Ki as Jin Do Hyuk
a newspaper reporter who is full of ambition , fun , optimistic and energetic person who transforms into a reporter with a strong sense of justice and speaks up for the lower middle class society.
He wants to become a reporter after his father but he comes from a family which struggles from the rigors of life and he was not able to study of his own will due to his immature sister who only worsens the situation. He barely gets into a third-rate newspaper but runs into a wall when the paper decides to cease publication.
He joins the news agency owned by a former mobster head, Cho Yong Duk who was one of his interviewees after the agency he formerly works for became bankupt. Since then, Choo Yong Duk becomes a father-like figure to Do Hyuk who is determine to fight against the unreasonableness, non-ethical and senselessness crimes committed by the ‘un-touchable’ people of the higher society. Do Hyuk crosses path again with Kang Hae Sung, his rival since highschool and gets into a triangular love relationship with him again with the arrival of Joo Jae In, a female cop. --Viikii.net

At work, she is alike her father who passed away while on duty but in normal life, she is alike her mother who is feminine and elegant yet a little immature. That is why she will sweep out criminals with various types of martial art fighting but wear pink pajamas at home or will be carefully sneaking into a crime scene but turn shy in front of the one she likes. That is where her appeal is and the reason why she will be confused over liking Jin Do Hyun and Kang Hae Sung. Jae In will always quarrel with Jin Do Hyuk who seems to be living a third-rate life , ignoring him and despising him , until she gradually realizes his attractiveness and starts to change and mature. --Viikii.net

an elite reporter who dreams of becoming successful, a cold-hearted person who is full of ambition and will use any means possible to achieve his goal.
He has been Do Hyuk’s rival eversince their highschool days, he knows what he needs to climb the society leader and is willing to make use of anything and anyone to get a step higher.
He engaged to Lee Ho Kyung, the daughter of his newspaper Dae-sae Ilbo’s chairman and secures his position as the mainstream reporter in the economic section of the paper.
